A man from Toronto is facing charges in a human trafficking investigation in Peel Region, police said.

Peel Regional Police launched the investigation in October 2024 after a victim approached investigators, alleging the accused recruited, took control of aspects of her life, exploited her in the sex trade, and benefited from it financially.

In November 2024, police arrested 31-year-old Andre Davis of Toronto. He faces multiple offences, including assault, trafficking in persons, advertising sexual services, forcible confinement and assault with a weapon, among other related charges.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

Investigators believe there may be more victims.
