Four youths have been arrested in connection to a Toronto carjacking and two robberies.
Toronto police say the first incident happened on Jan. 7 just before 5 a.m. at a store in the Finch Avenue West and Highway 27 area.
It’s alleged that two male suspects attended in a stolen vehicle while wearing masks. They allegedly made a demand for cash and assaulted the employee.
They fled the scene in a stolen vehicle after taking a quantity of cash and merchandise, police allege.
Two weeks later, on Jan. 20, just after 8 p.m., police responded to a robbery in the Kipling Avenue and Rexdale Boulevard area.
It was alleged that four suspects in a stolen Toyota Rav 4 collided head on with a victim’s vehicle. One suspect approached the victim and allegedly pulled them out of the vehicle. A second suspect produced a handgun and both suspects got into the vehicle and drove away.
The suspect then returned to the victim and demanded the keys. They allegedly produced a handgun and assaulted the victim causing minor injuries.
The suspects then all fled in the victim’s vehicle with the Rav 4 in tandem. Later than night, police responded to another robbery in the Steeles Avenue West and Weston Road area.
The four suspects travelling in a previously stolen vehicle went to a store wearing masks and two suspects produced handguns, making demands for cash and merchandise, investigators allege.
Police officers were able to quickly respond to the store and took all four suspects into custody. Officers allegedly recovered a loaded handgun, a replica handgun and items of evidentiary value related to the investigation.
Two 16-year-old males, one from Brampton and one from Southgate, and two 15-year-old males, from Toronto and Brampton, are facing several charges including robbery with a firearm and theft of a motor vehicle with violence.
The 16-year-olds and one 15-year-old from Toronto were also charged with failing to comply with release orders.
Both stolen vehicles were recovered.
