A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after jumping out of a second-storey window to escape a fire at a Mississauga home.
Peel Regional Police say flames broke out just after 7 p.m. on Thursday in the basement of a home near Burnhamthorpe Road West and Erin Mills Parkway.
Authorities say the fire started in the home’s basement. It was quickly put out, and the woman was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the fire is unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
