An evacuation of nearby businesses is underway in Scarborough after a truck was driven into a store and struck a gas line during a brazen robbery.

Police say the suspects drove the truck into a store in a plaza located in the Eglinton Avenue and Brimley Road area just before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The suspects then exited the truck and took items from a nearby store before fleeing the scene in a separate vehicle.

No injuries have been reported but police say the truck struck a gas line when it crashed into the first store and the area is being evacuated as a precaution as they wait for the gas to be shut off.
