OTTAWA—U.S. President Donald Trump added more reasons for his looming tariff war with Canada, complaining on social media that American banks can’t “open” or do business in Canada, as he announced he’d spoken to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau Monday morning.

In addition to banking barriers, Trump cited what he calls an influx of undocumented migrants and illegal drugs across Canada’s and Mexico’s borders as justification for a U.S.-led tariff war with Canada, Mexico and China, and said he expected to speak to Trudeau again Monday afternoon.
