Two men from Quebec were arrested on Sunday night for multiple offences following a collision in Oshawa.

Officers from the Durham Regional Police Service were initially called to the site of the crash near Olive Street and Ritson Road South just after 9:30 p.m.

According to police, one of the vehicles involved in the collision was an unplated black BMW SUV which had four occupants inside. After the crash, authorities say the four occupants fled the scene on foot. Meanwhile, the occupants of the other vehicle sustained minor injuries.

Two of the suspects were located nearby and placed under arrest.

Investigators say the BMW is associated with numerous thefts and attempted thefts of motor vehicles. It was seized by police, however it is unclear if the vehicle itself was reported as stolen.

Authorities have charged 19-year-old Onyie Andre of Quebec with three offences, including three counts of failing to comply with a release order, possession of an electronic device for the purpose of auto theft and theft of a motor vehicle.

Another individual, 19-year-old Cyriaque Koffi of Quebec, was also charged with two counts of failing to comply with a release order and possession of an electronic device for the purpose of auto theft.

They were both held for bail hearings while two other suspects are still on the run.

They are described as two males who were last seen wearing black jackets. One suspect had a red hoodie with a light-coloured flannel shirt, black pants and black shoes with light soles. The second suspect had a blue hoodie, blue track pants with white and black sneakers.

Investigators encourage anyone with information to contact police.
