The Macedonian community honoured one of its own at the Four Seasons in Toronto on Nov. 2, when the ReImagine gala paid tribute to Susan Niczowski, founder and president of Summer Fresh. The event raised more than $825,000 to help expand and redevelop Canadian Macedonian Place, a seniors home that opened its doors in East York in 1978. The sold-out celebration of Macedonian culture — featuring performances by Sean Jones and Elise LeGrow, folk dance group Makedonka and the Lemon Bucket Orkestra — was co-chaired by Vonna Bitove and Marilyn Trentos, and hosted by Catherine Murray.
