It can be tough sorting through the shows churned out by the 700,000 streaming services, so we’re bringing you a curated little list of what to watch right now.
Pick of the week
Toxic Town
The court case dubbed the “British Erin Brockovich” is getting its own onscreen treatment with a four-part miniseries.
Corby in the English Midlands was a steel town for many decades before the Corby Steelworks was shut down in the early ’80s. Over the next 15 years, the town redeveloped the area, sending massive amounts of toxic waste onto the roads and into the air, resulting in much higher rates of differences in the upper limbs of local babies.
Cheer on the brigade of determined mothers who joined forces to bring a case against the town for negligence, as played by the spirited Jodie Whittaker (“Doctor Who”) and Aimee Lou Wood (“The White Lotus”). Robert Carlyle (“The Full Monty”) and Rory Kinnear (“Black Mirror”) also star. Stream it Thursday on Netflix.
