Air conditioning mandate saved lives in Ontario nursing homes, study concludes

“The research shows one vulnerable population that is more protected, but there are many more isolated older adults that don’t have access to air conditioning and may live alone,” Stall said. “Air conditioning, for many of us, was long seen as a luxury. One of the key messages (of this research) is that is no longer the case. It is an essential health need and life-saving tool.”
