MONTREAL – Bruno Plourde says he was participating in Tuesday’s Remembrance Day ceremony under heavy snowfall in Montreal to remember a fallen comrade.
Plourde is a former lieutenant-colonel who served in Afghanistan.
He says it’s vital to remember those who paid the ultimate price to protect their country.
He was among a number of veterans and active armed forces members who attended the ceremony at Montreal’s Place du Canada
The ceremony began just after 10:30 a.m., with wreaths laid one by one in recognition of those that lost their lives in service.
It also included a 21-gun salute, and a flyover by the 438 Tactical Helicopter Squadron.
