It was a frightening experience for drivers on the QEW near Niagara after police officers arrested someone for pointing what turned out to be a fake firearm at motorists.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said at around 4 p.m. on Sunday, officers received multiple reports of a driver pointing a handgun while on the QEW.
The driver in question was stopped near Glendale Avenue in Niagara Falls and arrested. Police say they seized an imitation firearm, and no injuries were reported.
One individual faces charges, and OPP is asking anyone with information to come forward.
