Manitoba RCMP say both pilots are dead after two planes collided midair Tuesday near the city of Steinbach, southeast of Winnipeg.

There were no passengers aboard either plane, Mounties say.

The crash happened in the Rural Municipality of Hanover around 8:45 a.m. involving two small, single-engine aircrafts.
