Citytv’s Breakfast Television has parted ways with hosts Meredith Shaw and Sid Seixeiro, the station announced on-air Monday morning.
“They’ve brought us plenty of great conversations, laughs and unforgettable moments, and we’re grateful for everything they’ve shared with all of us,” host Devo Brown said on the broadcast. “We wish them the very best with what comes next. But we know that change is never easy.”
In an Instagram post, Shaw — whose bio, along with Seixeiro’s, has already been removed from the Breakfast Television website — said “not gonna lie, this is hard.”
“To you, BT viewers, my gratitude for you has never been deeper as a new chapter begins for your favourite show,” Shaw posted. “I hope I did you proud, I hope you saw me up there on your television and felt seen, I hope you know how much I cherish every conversation I have with you.”
Shaw joined Breakfast Television in 2023, replacing long-time host Dina Pugliese after her 16-year run in the position. She had previously appeared on “The Marilyn Denis Show,” “The Social,” “CTV Your Morning” and “Etalk.”
Seixeiro was previously the co-host of “Tim & Sid” on Sportsnet.
Brown said there are “exciting plans in the works” that the station with share with viewers “very, very soon.”
The Star has contacted Rogers, which owns Citytv, for comment.
This is a developing story.
