Marilyn Denis is signing off after 40 years on Toronto morning radio airwaves.
The Canadian broadcasting personality announced Thursday that she will step down from her hosting role at CHUM 104.5 this summer.
The 67-year-old began her career with CHUM FM in 1986, co-hosting the “Roger, Rick and Marilyn” show, and currently hosts the morning drive show, now dubbed “The Marilyn Denis Show.”
Denis said in a statement that she looks back at her time at the station with “pride and gratitude,” and is looking forward to the adventure ahead. She did not provide details on her future endeavours.
A release says CHUM 104.5 will celebrate Denis’ career and legacy in the lead-up to her final show, which will be announced at a later date.
The Edmonton-born broadcaster also had a long TV career. She hosted her own CTV lifestyle program, “The Marilyn Denis Show,” for 13 seasons until 2023. Before that, she hosted Citytv talk show “Cityline.”
“It’s no secret that I love radio. Working in the iconic CHUM universe for 40 years has been an absolute privilege,” said Denis in her statement.
“As I make the decision to step away from the station I love, I look back with pride and gratitude, knowing I had the honour of saying, ‘I worked at CHUM.’”
