A 36-year-old man from Arnprior has been charged with a half-dozen offences and a vehicle stolen in Ottawa in December has been recovered following a traffic stop between Perth and Innisville on Tuesday morning.

The Ontario Provincial Police said an officer from the Lanark County detachment was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 7 when the vehicle was clocked at more than 110 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

The officer stopped the vehicle and then determined it had been reported stolen in Ottawa in late December, a Jan. 13 OPP release said. It added that the driver was subject to a licence suspension and did not have auto insurance.

The man was charged with possession of property obtained by crime, driving while under suspension, driving without a licence, failing to have insurance, speeding and breach of recognizance. He was to have had a bail hearing in court in Perth later on Tuesday, police said.

Perth and Innisville are about 75 kilometres southwest of Ottawa.
