A nine-year-old boy sustained non-life-threatening injuries after he was struck by a vehicle while riding his bike along Greenbank Road on July 23.
The child was assessed on the scene by Ottawa Paramedic Service and taken to the hospital in stable condition, according to Marc-Antoine Deschamps, the paramedics’ superintendent of public information.
“It’s not life threatening,” Deschamps said.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the incident was not injured, Ottawa police spokesperson Fern John-Simon wrote in a July 23 email statement.
The Ottawa Police Service received a call around 12:35 p.m. regarding the collision between a vehicle and a cyclist in the area around Greenbank Road and Larkin Drive, just south of Fallowfield Road.
The collision is still being investigated, John-Simon said.
