“Given the occurrence of hate-motivated incidents locally, the reported presence of ideologically motivated violent extremism, and the evolving threat environment associated with foreign interference and radicalization, such a session would support council’s awareness of risks that intersect with municipal responsibilities, including public safety, community resilience, protection of critical infrastructure, and engagement with law enforcement and relevant federal agencies,” Perrault said in his response to Hill’s inquiry.
