Still basking in the glory of their historic Glastonbury performance this summer, Coldplay has announced a massive world tour.
The British rock band announced on Tuesday that they will be bringing their “Music of The Spheres” to Toronto for two shows at Rogers Stadium, which is being built at the former site of Downsview Airport.
The global superstars will play back-to-back shows at the new stadium — an open-air facility set to open in June 2025 with a 50,000 seating capacity — on July 7 and July 8, 2025.
Tickets for the North American concerts go on sale this Friday morning with presale access on Ticketmaster. Sign-ups for the pre-sale are currently available.
Toronto is the only confirmed Canadian stop for Coldplay’s 2025 tour; it will be the band’s first Toronto show in eight years.
The 2025 North American leg of the tour includes U.S. cities such as Stanford, Las Vegas, Denver, El Paso, Boston, Madison, Nashville and Miami.
Tickets to the U.K. and Europe leg are currently sold out.
Formed in London in 1997, Coldplay consists of frontman Chris Martin, guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, drummer Will Champion and the band’s unofficial fifth member, Phil Harvey, Coldplay’s manager.
The band’s 10th studio album, “Moon Music,” was released last week.
