We know it’s tough to sort through the content churned out by the 700,000 streaming services, so we’re bringing you a curated little list of what to watch right now.
Pick of the week
Dark Side of the Ring
Pound for pound, “Dark Side of the Ring” is one of the most consistently engrossing docuseries on TV right now.
Each episode of the show spotlights a professional wrestler and the personal hardships they’ve endured to succeed in such a brutally competitive sport — and the outside-the-ring temptations and tragedies that sometimes take them out of the game for good.
Not a big wrestling fan? No worries: all the scandals and salacious content are highly entertaining, sure, but the show also essentially functions as a top-tier behind-the-scenes workplace drama as well, giving viewers a front-row seat into the buck-wild day-to-day requirements, nutty coworkers and bosses, and internecine politics of a truly fascinating industry. (You’ll also quickly pick up all the fun old-school lingo, from babyfaces and heels to the difference between a work and a shoot.)
This season looks especially juicy, covering the stories of performers like Tony Atlas, Vader, Ludwig Borgia, Billy Jack Haynes, “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert, “Superstar” Billy Graham, Daffney, “The Original Sheik” Ed Farhat and Muhammad Hassan. Stream it Tuesday on Crave.

10. Million Dollar Secret
“Couples Retreat” may be a terrible, terrible movie, but it features an all-timer performance from the hilarious Peter Serafinowicz as stern hotel manager Sctanley (that is not a typo; the C is silent). He essentially reprises the role here in a “Traitors”-esque series in which he plays an unctuous Alan Cumming type, dispensing rules, challenges and devastating burns to contestants. The premise? One of the guests got a million dollars on arrival — but they’ll lose it if anyone figures out they’re the one who got it. Stream it Wednesday on Netflix.
