Deadly 2-vehicle collision shuts down Hwy. 400 in Vaughan

At least one person is dead following a collision on Highway 400 in Vaughan early Sunday morning, authorities say.

In a social media post shared shortly before 5 a.m., provincial police said a two-vehicle collision between a transport truck and passenger vehicle happened on Highway 400 at Major Mackenzie Drive.

Authorities have classified the collision as “fatal,” but have not provided specific details.

All northbound lanes of the highway are closed for an investigation. Aurora OPP and emergency crews are at the scene.

“ Expect lengthy closures while the investigation continues,” authorities said. “Please avoid the area and plan alternate routes.”
