A 47-year-old delivery truck driver from Woodstock suffered life-threatening injuries in a three-vehicle crash on the southbound Highway 400 near Sheppard Avenue late Wednesday morning.
The crash occurred just before noon.
“A tractor-trailer and a pickup truck were slowing due to congestion,” OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt explained in a video posted to social media.
“A delivery truck collided into the back of the tractor-trailer which pushed it into the pickup truck. The driver of that delivery truck has been taken to hospital with serious and life-threatening injuries.”
There’s no word on possible charges at this point. The OPP is asking any potential witnesses to contact them.
All southbound lanes of the highway at Finch Avenue were closed for the investigation for at least six hours, but have now reopened.
