Elderly woman struck by vehicle in North York

A 99-year-old woman was rushed to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in North York.

Toronto police were called to Victoria Park and Sunrise avenues just after 1 p.m. for reports a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.

It’s alleged a 40-year-old man was driving a black Mercedes Benz northbound on Victoria Park when he made a left turn onto Sunrise Avenue and struck the woman.

The woman was taken to hospital by emergency run with life-threatening injuries.

The driver involved remained on the scene.
