Fashion retailer Forever 21 operator files for bankruptcy in U.S.

The U.S. retail operator of Forever 21, a brand that once attracted droves of young women and girls to shop for cheap, trendy clothing, filed for bankruptcy after years of poor performance. 

The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Delaware, court documents show. It listed assets of $100 million to $500 million and liabilities of $1 billion to $10 billion in its petition.
