Federal offender Abdo Yussuf has been located and arrested in Ottawa, the Ontario Provincial Police said.

In a news release Tuesday, the OPP said Yussuf was apprehended by the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad in the nation’s capital after being at large since July 14.

The Ottawa Citizen reported in September that Yussuf was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breach of statutory release.

He is serving a two-year, five-month, 13-day sentence for possessing a prohibited firearm with ammunition, carrying a concealed weapon and failing to comply with an order.

He has now also been charged with resisting arrest, possession for purpose of trafficking and being unlawfully at large.
