A federal offender who had been at large since May 5 has been located and arrested in Ottawa.
The Ontario Provincial Police Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) squad had asked for the public’s help in the search for Adam Reid, who they said was known to frequent the Ottawa, Perth and Smiths Falls areas.
Reid, who had been wanted on a Canada-wide warrant as a result of a breach of his statutory release, was found and arrested by Ottawa police, the OPP said in a news release Wednesday.
Reid is serving a two-year, fourth-month, one-day sentence for possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a schedule l/ll substance for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
