Ottawa firefighters quelled a stubborn fire in a townhouse in the 1500 block of Briarwood Crescent Saturday in the city’s east end.
A 911 caller reported the fire at about 4:30 a.m.
Crews arriving at the scene reported visible flames at back deck of the building.
Firefighters launched a fast attack while calling for additional resources.
A search of the scene reported no occupants were trapped.
An OC Transpo bus was summoned to shelter stranded residents.
The fire was declared under control at 6:03 a.m.
There were no injuries reported.
An Ottawa Fire Services investigator has been dispatched to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
