
A large police operation in Ottawa’s west end resulted in the arrests of five men in their 20s on various drug-related charges and outstanding warrants, Ottawa police said Tuesday.
Police warned of a heavy police presence in the area of Richmond Road and Patricia Avenue shortly after 1 p.m., asking residents to avoid the area.
There was no known threat to public safety, police announced on
social media
.
At around 2:30 p.m., police announced the operation had concluded. Police said they also seized a vehicle during the operation.
“We thank everyone for their patience. The investigation is ongoing,” police stated in an email.
