Franktown-area man, 50, dies in snowmobile crash

A 50-year-old Franktown-area man is dead after the snowmobile he was riding crashed into a parked trailer.

Provincial police said on social media they were called to a crash site on private property adjacent to Brunton Sideroad.

A family member had found the victim and had begun emergency measures until Lanark County paramedics and police arrived.

However, the victim had suffered serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation is being conducted by Lanark County OPP, with the assistance of a technical officer from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team.

Franktown is south of Carleton Place, about 60 km from Ottawa.
