Don’t blame the messenger.
But Environment Canada has issued the year’s first frost warning for the fall, expected Friday night.
“Temperatures are expected to drop to near the freezing mark overnight into early Saturday morning,” the agency says.
“In urban areas, temperatures may remain a few degrees warmer which may limit the potential for frost. Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees.”
Saturday’s forecast sees the temperature hovering around 1 C under clear skies.
Sunday looks better, with a high of about 16 C and a low of 15 C. There’s a 30-per-cent chance of showers.
Warmer autumn temps are expected by Monday.
For now.
