The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall notice for two products from a popular baby food company.
On Friday, the agency announced that Gerber brand “Soothe N Chew Teething Sticks” was being recalled due to potential choking hazard.
The affected products come in two flavours: banana and strawberry apple.
The CFIA says the recall was triggered by the company following reports of choking incidents that were linked to the products. The agency says it is conducting an investigation which may lead to the recall of other products.
Consumers are advised to check and see if they have recalled products and to either throw them out or return them to the location where they were purchased.
“The CFIA is verifying that industry is removing recalled products from the marketplace,” the agency said in a statement.
No other details were released.
