Great Valentine Gala raises funds for people with disabilities

More than 450 guests gathered at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel on Feb. 14 for the 42nd Annual Great Valentine Gala presented by Scotiabank and hosted by the Canadian Foundation for Physically Disabled Persons (CFPDP). The evening celebrated leaders and organizations that are helping to build a more inclusive Canada. A fireside chat hosted by Scott Russell, chancellor of Nipissing University and former CBC Sports broadcaster, offered reflections on diversity, equity, accessibility and belonging. Attendees also celebrated athletes heading to the 2026 Paralympics. Proceeds from the event will support accessible and affordable housing, sport and recreation, board diversity initiatives and endowment funds for post-secondary students with physical disabilities.
