Environment Canada reports strong winds with gusts of 70 km/h to 90 km/h are expected in the capital area starting Friday afternoon.
“Winds will strengthen and suddenly shift to the west late this afternoon or early this evening as a cold front passes, with a brief gust to 90 km/h possible,” the agency reported just before 11 a.m.
The winds are expected to ease this evening, the agency says.
“Local utility outages are possible, secure loose objects.”
