The Canadian Museum of History says it will reopen to visitors at 1 p.m. Wednesday after being closed following a watermain break in Gatineau.
The
CINÉ+, the Gift Shop, the Canadian Children’s Museum, and the parking garage will also be open during regular hours.
However,
the Panorama Café and Second Cup will remain closed for the day.
Meanwhile, an estimated 3,000 people remain affected by a continuing
water main break
in Gatineau’s downtown, the city said Wednesday.
The city said the break affects “all buildings located on Laurier Street, between Sacré-Coeur Boulevard and Hôtel-de-Ville Street.”
The buildings with no water service include Maison du Citoyen, the Portage 1 and Portage 2 office buildings, as well as the Sheraton Hotel.
“Access to these buildings may be affected,” the city said in a release Wednesday. “For more information, please contact these institutions directly.”
Services at the Maison du Citoyen (library, art gallery, tax counter, municipal court, etc.) are cancelled for the day, and the building is closed.
The city’s executive committee meeting scheduled for Wednesday, will now be conducted via Teams on the Web.
The city said it will update any further changes.
There was no update on repair work on the damaged water system.
