How a humble sugar shack in Vanier turned into a state-of-the-art facility

This three-year-old structure is a $1-million, multi-purpose facility, with a well-equipped kitchen, a spacious dining room that seats 60 people, HVAC systems, wheelchair ramp, accessible washrooms, sap-storage tanks and a natural gas-powered, stainless-steel evaporator bigger than my car (and probably worth more), safely housed in an insulated, glassed-off room. The gleaming equipment reminded me of a brewery.
