Impaired driver arrested after crashing into TTC bus: police

Toronto police are investigating after an impaired driver allegedly crashed into the back of a TTC bus early Sunday morning.

Officers say the collision happened just before 6:00 a.m. in the city’s North Riverdale neighbourhood, near Danforth Avenue and Broadview Avenue.

A spokesperson for the TTC says the bus was stationary when it was rear-ended by a black sedan. No passengers were on board the bus at the time of the crash.

Police confirmed to CityNews that two people were inside the sedan at the time of the collision. The driver was arrested at the scene for impaired driving and then transported to a local hospital due to injuries sustained in the crash. The passenger of the sedan was also taken to a hospital for treatment, but the extent of their injuries is unknown.

Photos from the scene appear to show significant damage to the sedan, but only minor damage to the bus.

No other details were released.
