Canada’s annual rate of inflation stayed at 1.7 per cent in May, according to data released Tuesday.
The Consumer Price Index — a broad-based measure of inflation — was 1.7 per cent higher in May than it was a year earlier, Statistics Canada said. That’s exactly where it was in April.
May’s CPI release is one of two inflation reports to arrive before the Bank of Canada’s next interest rate decision, scheduled to come July 30.
More to come.
