Intimate partner arrest leads to weapons, drug charges in Lanark County

A 24-year-old Lanark County man charged with intimate partner violence offences also faces a number of drug and weapons charges, provincial police said Thursday.

Lanark County OPP were called to a home in Montague

Township on Wednesday just before 11:30 p.m.

There were several weapons and suspected cocaine seized at the scene. This resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old man.

The man has been charged with

assault causing bodily harm, assault, uttering

threats and mischief.

He also faces charges of careless storage of firearms, weapons or ammunition, 

possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and p
ossession of prohibited weapons.

He is also charged with cocaine possession.

He was held in custody for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Perth on Wednesday.

“The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim,” police said.
