Prime Minister Justin Trudeau‘s eldest son, 17-year-old Xavier Trudeau, appears to be stepping into the Canadian music scene with the launch of his debut music track next month.
On Saturday, the young Trudeau, who goes by the name Xav, shared a snippet of his new song titled “Til The Nights Done” in an Instagram post.
The reel shows the aspiring musician walking around at night in a hoodie and performing in a recording studio while a beat plays in the background.
Pathway Music Group, the management company Trudeau’s Instagram profile links to, confirmed to the Star in an email that the song will be available on all official platforms Feb. 21, as will an accompanying music video.
“Xav began by sharing his passion with his friends and this eventually developed into a more serious approach,” said Alex Van Dusen, a spokesperson for the management company. “‘Til The Night’s Done’ is a dark and ambient RnB love song.”
The track, which includes the lyric “We could roll sum, we could light one,” was produced by Duava and engineered by Tekika, Van Dusen said.
“Good work guys!” Trudeau’s mother, Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, commented on the Instagram post.
Xavier, the oldest of the three Trudeau children, was born in 2007, Ella-Grace followed in 2009 and five years later, the family welcomed Hadrien.
The teen has been making the occasional appearance on his father’s official social media profiles.
The most notable post being when the prime minister shared a photo of the two dressed in pink for the Greta Gerwig-directed film “Barbie,” captioned with “We’re team Barbie.”
The prime minister and Grégoire Trudeau separated after 18 years of marriage in 2023.
The former couple appear to have maintained their pledge to remain “a close family” with their three children.
Earlier this month, Trudeau stated his plan to resign as prime minister and Liberal leader after the party chooses his successor on March 9.
Trudeau, in a nationally televised news conference, said that although his instinct was to stay on in the face of what he called a “critical moment” for the country, the internal battles in his own party that had flared into a crisis made that impossible.
