On Sept. 6, Artists for Peace and Justice hosted its 17th annual gala at the Omni King Edward Hotel, presented in partnership with Entertainment Weekly. One of the city’s most anticipated philanthropic events, the gala raised $750,000 to support education and community-led initiatives in Haiti. With board chair Natasha Koifman at the helm, the evening, emceed by Kardinal Offishall and George Stroumboulopoulos, honoured Amanda Brugel. Fefe Dobson, Rotimi, Paul Beaubrun and others performed. This year’s event was made possible thanks to the support of such sponsors as Air Canada, 2Fifteen by DBS Developments, Audi and 138 Yorkville.
