Well, it’s Instagram official.
Katy Perry shared a series of photos from Japan on Saturday, several of which featured couple-y moments between the U.S. pop star and former Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau.
The post, captioned “tokyo times on tour and more,” comes just a few days after the pair had lunch with Japanese politician Fumio Kishida and his wife.
In a post shared to social media, Kishida referred to Perry as Trudeau’s “partner,” and Trudeau reshared the same post by saying “Katy and I” were happy to meet with the former Japanese prime minister.
In Perry’s latest Instagram post, the pair can be seen cosying up and smiling at the camera in a selfie.
A black-and-white video of the two shows Perry biting into uni (sea urchin) while Trudeau watches with his arm around the back of Perry’s chair. The two, foreheads almost touching, smile at each other.
Finally, a video appears to show the pair from behind, silhouetted against a sparkling blue wall. In the video, it appears like the two are holding hands and leaning in shoulder-to-shoulder, before the camera pans upwards and away.
While neither Trudeau nor Perry has explicitly said the two are dating, a series of public outings and recent posts seem to have confirmed the rumour that began in July.
The pair were captured by TMZ sharing a dinner in Montreal, as Perry was completing her “Lifetimes Tour” stops in Canada. Two days later, Trudeau was spotted at Perry’s show, singing along to “Firework” and “Teenage Dream.”
Nearly two months later, images of the two kissing on a yacht in California went viral. Later in October, the pair made their first public appearance in Paris, where they were filmed holding hands while leaving a cabaret show, where they had been celebrating Perry’s 41st birthday.
On Tuesday, the two were spotted holding hands again in Tokyo, where Perry performed two shows on Wednesday and Thursday for her tour.
