Ottawa police arrested a man in the ByWard Market area Saturday afternoon after receiving a call for a person believed to be holding a gun.
The call to the area of York Street and Sussex Drive came in at about 11:30 a.m.
“Officers quickly responded to the area and arrested the male,” police stated in an email.
Police said the investigation was in its early stages and they would be issuing limited information, including details of the weapon.
There was no mention of injuries or shots fired.
