Toronto police have arrested a man who was wanted in connection with two separate assaults in the downtown core earlier this week.

According to police, one of the victims was sitting in their car near Dundas Street West and Elizabeth Street, just north of Toronto City Hall, when they were approached by the suspect.

Officers say the suspect allegedly opened the car door and assaulted the driver some time before 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.

The victim was able to close their door and quickly drive away, and did not require any medical attention after the assault.

Less than an hour later, authorities say a second victim was allegedly approached by the same suspect and assaulted in their car just like the first victim.

Police located the suspect in the area and placed him under arrest. He has been identified as 25-year-old N’Da Sylvain Kouaido of no fixed address.

Kouaido has been charged with mischief and two counts of assault.

Investigators believe there may be more victims and encourage anyone with information to contact police.
