Police have arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with several unprovoked violent attacks in Etobicoke.
Investigators were first alerted to an incident just before 11 p.m. on March 30 when a man and the victim were involved in an interaction aboard a TTC bus in the Weston Road and Eglinton Avenue West area.
Police say the man followed the victim off the bus and then began repeatedly stabbing them before fleeing the area. The victim, who did not know the suspect, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Police say they believe the suspect was involved in two similar incidents.
On April 19, investigators were called to Lawrence West subway station following reports that a man got into a verbal argument with another person.
According to police, the suspect physically assaulted the victim “multiple times” and threw coffee in their face before fleeing the scene. The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Three days later, police say a man was walking along Weston Road when he accidentally bumped into the suspect and, following a brief verbal exchange, the suspect stabbed the victim “unprovoked” before chasing them on foot. The victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Investigators say the suspect was tracked down in Windsor and arrested.
