The Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) is investigating after a man was fatally shot in Oshawa on Tuesday.
Authorities were called to an apartment building at 1040 Cedar Street at around 2 p.m. following reports of gunshots in the area. They found a man at the scene who was pronounced dead.
The Homicide Unit has now taken over the investigation.
DRPS Acting Inspector Craig McCabe said the victim was shot and killed inside the building, but there was no suspect description available.
Officers will be at the scene for much of Tuesday evening as the investigation continues. McCabe said more information would be released at a later date.
