Man wanted for assaulting LCBO employee during robbery: police

A man is wanted for assault after he allegedly struck an LCBO employee with an alcohol bottle during a robbery, Toronto police said.

Authorities responded to an LCBO in the Avenue Road and Deloraine Avenue area near Lawrence Avenue West just after 7:30 p.m. on Monday for reports of a robbery.

The suspect entered the LCBO and allegedly began to take bottles of alcohol and put them into a box. Police said loss prevention staff approached the man, who threw a bottle and struck a staff member.

The victim was sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Adam Canali, 34, of Toronto, is wanted for robbery, two counts of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, having faced mask/disguised, two counts of uttering threats/death of bodily harm and two counts of breaching probation.

He is described as six feet tall and has buzzed hair with a receding hairline. He has tattoos on his neck and both arms and hands. 

The accused was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, black Roots sweatpants, black shoes, and a black balaclava.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the police.
