Manufacturing sales up 3.3 per cent in September, highest level since February

OTTAWA – Statistics Canada says manufacturing sales rose 3.3 per cent to $72.1 billion in September, its highest level since February.

The agency says the increase came as sales rose in 14 of the 21 subsectors, boosted by a 9.2 per cent gain in transportation equipment and a 5.3 per cent gain in the petroleum and coal subsector.
