Motorcyclist dead, 2 others injured after crash in east-end Toronto: police

Toronto police officers say a man has died and two other people have been injured after a motorcycle and a car collided in the city’s east end early Sunday.

A Toronto Police Service spokesperson confirmed the crash happened just before 1 a.m. in the area of Brimley Road and Wenlock Gate, south of Steeles Avenue East.

The spokesperson told CityNews in a written statement the man was driving the motorcycle and a woman was riding as a passenger. Both individuals were taken to a hospital by paramedics as was the car’s driver.

They said the man was pronounced dead at the hospital and the woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car also had non-life-threatening injuries.

The spokesperson said the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The representative said officers are still interviewing witnesses, gathering surveillance video and undertaking a mechanical inspection of both vehicles.
