A 33-year-old provincial police officer faces two charges of impaired operation of a vehicle following an incident Sunday night in Stone Mills Township, northwest of Kingston.

In a release, the OPP said that at 10:50 p.m., an OPP officer “was approached by an individual that had just exited their vehicle and was displaying potential signs of impairment.”

The person was arrested and transported to the L&A County detachment for further testing.

Following the investigation, Benjamin Snider has been charged with two counts of impaired driving.

“The investigation revealed that the accused is a Provincial Constable assigned to the OPP’s East Region with four years of service who was off duty at the time,” the OPP said in a release.
