One person is dead following a fire Sunday in Cantley, Que.
At about 10:30 a.m., a passerby told two occupants of a home on Chemin Ste-Élisabeth that the garage behind the residence was on fire, MRC des Collines-de-l’Outaouais police said in a social media post Monday.
Police said a body was later found in the rubble. The victim was not immediately identified, and an an autopsy will be conducted to confirm their identity, police said.
They added that the cause of the fire had not yet been determined and said the investigation is ongoing.
Cantley is located about 21 kilometres north of Ottawa.
