Ontario Provincial Police brought out their special forces again last weekend, including aircraft and traffic specialists who handed out nearly 80 charges for driving-related offences in the Ottawa area.

The tally included

four G2 drivers who were charged with stunt-driving, one of them for
travelling at 206 km/h.

Several motorcycles were seized, including one that was being driven by a suspended driver at 189 km/h. That driver also did not have insurance and was not properly licensed to drive a motorcycle.

The OPP aircraft came in handy for the arrest, tailing the biker to Stittsville, where police took them into custody.

Another biker was apprehended on Baseline Road in Ottawa, where the driver was “cat-walking” the cycle. That trick used to be called doing “wheelies,” and it’s never been legal.

Several drivers also
face criminal charges for dangerous operation of vehicles.

A car is towed after being caught by OPP speeding over the weekend.
